As Governor of Metro Manila she oversaw the country's first Light Railway Transit System from Baclaran in the south to Monumento in the north. First Day Cover of the LRT issue of September 10, 1984. Imelda was also responsible for post offices to be opened at the major LRT stations.  Although out of power for close to 20 years, the post offices she ordered to be established are to date still providing service to the residents of Metro Manila.
